I like to make sculpture, furniture and various objects. Occasionally I fabricate artwork for other artists and sometimes I collaborate with friends. I also design spaces and enjoy teaching, consulting and commissions.

Telfar Mobile Cruise  2016

Telfar Clemens and Babak Radboy asked frequent collaborator, Lizzie Fitch, to design a new mobile pop-up shop. Lizzie, in turn, asked me to collaborate on the design and then fabricate a roving retail display system, including clothing racks, hangers, storage and a packable changing room. Our primary inspiration came from distinctly American objects such as 5-gallon buckets, modular racks, clip-on accessories, camping tents and things on casters. The retail system was used for a number of events, first in conjunction with the New Museum in NYC, and then for the Boffo Residency on Fire Island, NY.
Five painted steel posts with round bases, interlocking crossbars for hanging clothing. A family of hangers, hooks and logo bucket lids CNC routed from HDPE plastic. Utility Bucket Belts for hanging bags and accessories. An ultralight changing room made with Silnylon and aluminum tent poles. All the goods pack in the buckets, everything comes apart, stacks, there is nothing extra and everything can be carried around from site to site. The Mobile Shop moves location every day, popping up by the ferry, the beach, cruising around.

This was a very fun project that combined so many of my favorite things: digital and physical modeling, collaborating with creative friends, hooks, webbing accessories, retail design, pattern-making, ultralight camping, machining plastic, NYC and hanging out at the beach!
